Dominicana Moda 2011
During the past 6 years the Dominican Republic has been the platform to showcase the talent of many Dominican fashion designers, leading to an important affair known as Dominicana Moda; a massive production that brings together a set of top and emerging designers who spend months researching their ideas and gathering the pieces that will give shape to their collections.
Dominican Republic is one of the most important points in the Caribbean for textile manufacturing, as many world class companies develop their products in its large factories. This Caribbean island is also home to one of the top 10 design schools in the world known as Altos de Chavón.
Some of the Designers that presented their creations this year are:
Giannina Azar, Guttierez-Marcano, Jenny Polanco, Damaris Rubio, Jacqueline Then, emerging designer Jose Jhan winner of Designer of the Year, and especial guest Marchesa among many others.
